Statement
An
international quilt and stitched textile artist living in
England, Sandra is originally from Ontario and often draws
her inspiration from her Canadian roots. She is
author of “Contemporary
Quilts...Design, Surface and Stitch” and a new book
“Creative Quilts... Inspiration, Texture and Stitch”
(August 2006) both published by BT Batsford.
"Inuit
communities and the Arctic landscape as well as more
recent themes based on Algonquin lakes and woodlands
are favourite themes of mine. I work with photographic
transfer techniques, often combining a mix of media,
paper, wire with writings from my diary.”
