Artist's
Statement
In
my work I design and print patterns on textiles.
The complexity and depth of textured surfaces fascinates
me. The visual textures in my work are created by
manipulating screen printing and painting coloured
pigments on the fabric surface.
I
have always been drawn to the repetition of
patterns. Repeated patterns are not limited to
textiles. They occur in nature, in man-made
structures - they are an integral part of everyday
life in all cultures.
I
love sharing my knowledge of textiles and surface
design through lectures and hands on workshops to
groups internationally.
